Bangles and hoops - crocheted wire jewelry

bangle hoop crochet handmade circle wrist silver gold copper red orange green fall bracelet חישוק בנגל צמיד עגול עיגול ע כסף זהב עבודת יד

Do you know the feeling that suddenly the world is exploding of something that just got into your notion ? like when you are pregnant and suddenly you see so many pregnant woman that you wonder weather its the latest trend ...
This is how I feel about loops, hoops & bangles, up until I started exploring this shape I didn't give it much attention, I have a memory somewhere in the back of my mind that I had a pair of small silver hoops when I was a teen , but ever since then NADA/Niente/Rien ! did it just come back into fashion or was it always there and it was me that was away ..... ?

Anyway ever since it burst into my notion I became an addict, not only that I have now hoop earrings in 5 sizes giant, jumbo, large, medium and mini size. I also have bangles , in gold , in silver, in oxidized silver and in many bright colors such as red, orange, green and more.....

if you are crafty you are welcome to make it yourself , check my  crocheted wire jewelry tutorials section on my etsy shop

Spirals in my designs

The spiral shape has been accompanying me for many years now, it pops in and out of my designs, both on my industrial product designs and my jewelry.
As part of my constant search for new designs I developed a spiral that appears as the item itself rather then mere decoration.

I implicated it in 14k gold filled stud earrings that for unknown reason give me a vintage feeling and as a charm pendant on delicate chain.

Here are the images so you can get the impression yourself.
I examined this design also in color and its lovely, I made a pink - fuchsia pair for myself and will be defiantly make more.
I promise to share it with you once it is photographed.

My first workshop is on its way

I know, I don't believe it myself.... from time to time i was getting inquiries about workshops, very polity (I hope...) I refused and offered to purchase my tutorials and enjoy my online help if it gets rough.
But lately after much consideration I decide Why not actually....
I decided to start with a short workshop of 3 meetings, starting right after the Jewish holidays when everybody can focus back on their life and start the new year with new interests.
Although I have been teaching in the past, this is going to be a whole new experience for me and I'm really excited about it, I know most of you live too far away to attend, but yet I felt like sharing this new idea going on.

YooLa's Bridal jewelry collection

What would be a more perfect timing for writing about Brides and weddings then now, when we are in the middle of THE wedding season. I must admit that i myself got married in the winter but i totally understand people that want to celebrate in the summer, everything is bright and open and happy.

People have been telling me for a long time now that several of my jewelry are perfect for brides, and that i must find a way to offer my relevant designs for brides, either for themselves or for their bridesmaids.

So I decided that as a start i will make it easier for brides to be to find me, i started a section on my etsy shop dedicated to Bridal jewelry where i gathered all my items that i think match best this category.

If i try to describe what goes into this category, i picked the items that are especially glamorous and that give a sense of elegance and sophistication, pearls certainly go into this category as well as bright silver and gold.

I can already write some success under this category and cant wait to get photos from my brides and bridesmaids.

July inspired jewelry

July is here , with so many blue, red ant white events that I was inspired to explore this color combo.
First there is 4th of July, United states independence day, then we will be "celebrating" the tour De France together with the Bastille day, Le 14 Juillet on the 14th.
I started with my sunflower design trying to combine all three colors in different order to see how it works together. red, blue and silver or silver as a separator between the blue and red. I think the outcome is very festive, sort of medals.
These three "medals" intrigued me to explore some more and for the first time ever I combined more then one color into my pod shaped beads, this time I already knew I would like the silver to separate between the blue and the red. I made one and then another one.... and decided it would look just great on my pod hoops design.

The most interesting thing is that I will defiantly be checking some multicolor designs in the near future and hopefully come out with a whole new collection....
enjoy the celebrations !

Featured seller on Boticca.com

Hi Everyone, this a very exciting week, I've been picked up to be this week featured seller on Boticca.com. For those of you that dont know this site its a great opportunity for me to send some traffic their way. Its a high end online botic that presents carefully picked designers from all around the world.

It has a very clean look and heavy restriction on us designers regarding image quality we present there.

As part of this week opportunity that i got, I produced a short film showing my work place and me working. As I'm not used to such situations i have a lot of criticism about my performance.... But I decided after all to share it with the world.... so you are welcome to have a look.

Also to this occasion the editorial stuff of Boticca wrote a few words about my design that left me speechless..., I wish I could write like this.
here it is :
"Yoola tosses ostentatious gems aside for fine metal jewelry knitted into the most modern of shapes. Appropriate anywhere, from the countryside to the city, these shining bulbs, blooms, and sunbursts are as bewitching as they are unique.

The designer of Yoola creates her complex jewelry in Israel, where craftsmithing traditions run deep. Lightweight and heavenly, this jewelry that can't be ignored, whether your piece of choice is a thicker cuff or a tiny, airy drop of an earring. Industrial-designer-by-day Yael Falk uses her trained eye to develop unexpected designs—from far away, these pieces look like lace, but they flash like only metal can from up close. Read more...

Yoola isn't merely modern jewelry. There's glittering appeal to each piece that's reminiscent of a time when glitz and glam reigned supreme. Knitted metal captivates, whether it's in a deep plum purple, jet black, or a bright gold, and it can work in casual settings just as easily as it can in professional ones.

With a twist and a turn by Yoola, wire comes alive in a series of complex undulations. Necklaces feature bulbs with a distinctly earthy edge; earrings burst forth in a spray of intertwined metal. The fusion of simplicity and a cosmopolitan air is only part of Yoola's universal appeal: these glittering pieces add spice to any wardrobe."

My workplace corner

I've been planing to do this for what seems to be ages, but since I'm such an unorganized person (to say the least), I never got there.
It just had to be something coming from outside or heaven sakes an earthquake to drive me into organizing my corner.

But this Saturday, my traditional shooting day, it finally happened, I put it in order during probably no more then an hour, well maybe an hour and a half.
And I just love it ! usually I sit there only when I put the jewelry together and do the knitting on one of my favorite sofas. But now... I cant leave it, luckily it is situated just between the kitchen and living room, so I can still control everything going on in the house .
It is an enigma, if I enjoy it so much when it is organized why don't I dedicate the attention needed to keep it like this a l w a y s ????
Well, this time I promised myself I will, but only time will tell, meantime you are welcome to enjoy the pictures.
Im sorry but i cant show you the before....only the after, I did shoot it but its too embarrassing.
Yours,
Yael aka YooLa
