NEW pomegranate pattern on VIDEO
You couldn't guess, but I was planing the production of my pomegranate wire crochet video pattern for ages....
Almost ever since I produced my first video tutorial I wanted to create one for my poms.
But since I still have so many designs that don't have neither a PDF pattern nor a video , it was always pushed to the bottom of the list.
The trigger for this video was my NEW ISK starters set , people were asking if the pomegranates could be prepared with it, and if yes , then how ?
My largest ISK starer has 40 loops , and the pomegranate pattern is 40 ..... video is so eeasy in explaining new things, so I filmed a short video explaining how to turn 40 loops into 56, and how does this turn into a pomegranate...
One thing led to another and I'm now super happy to introduce a NEW PDF pattern and a brand new VIDEO tutorial.
It explains in detail , both how to create a pom with the ISK starter but also without it, so its not compulsory only a "very nice to have help" :)
It was important for me to keep enabling people to buy my patterns and receive them online or via email.
Can anyone guess what is the next pattern I'm going to publish ? ......
not telling, its a surprise !

Eclipse, when industrial design meets wire knitting
You must be asking yourself what does eclipse has to do with it ,
well, I was looking for a visual image that reflects something that doesn't happen very often , and combines day and night.
but what I really want to tell you is the story how my ISK starters were born.
as an industrial designe, and especially a very inventive one, I just couldn't resist the urge
to develop dedicated tools for my my ISK wire knitting.
The live workshops I run, together with my worldwide online students, helped me focus at what would really bring a change and help everyone grab the ISK technique even more easily the before.
My hubby (which is also my partner) and I, have been playing with the idea for more then a
year now, no, I couldn't convince him to try wire knitting, but I did manage to drag him into participating in the design and the production.
We took advantage of our skills as industrial designers, and did for our selves what we do on a daily basis for
our clients (on our design firm) , we came up with a simple and practical solution,
a product that will enable my students, both the local ones and the ones spread worldwide, to easily start wire ISK knitting projects.
We went through all the design stages, prepared 3D mechanical files on the computer, produced STL models to experiment with it for real, to learn how comfortable it is, does it actually make the ISKnitter life more fun and easy.
We went through a phase of adjustments , and when we were happy with the result, we had to examine it business wise. I must admit I'm not a big fan of excel charts but there was just no going around.
When we finalized tweaking the numbers and saw this whole start-up can make sense, and we can actually offer it in a reasonable price, we decided to jump to deep waters and make the investment.
I dont know how many of you know, but plastic parts demand extremely expensive investment in tooling , and we didnt want the product to be too pricy, we wanted it to be affordable and an easy purchase for all the wire knitters in the world :)
We launched the ISK starter set mid April , and shipped out by now quite a few, but what is more important is that the first feedbacks have already started flowing in , and they are so warm and exciting. People that were struggling are now reporting that the ISK starters have actually change their experience into an even better one.
Some even point out advantages we weren't aware of :) like how easy it is now to know exactly how many stitches you have on your base..... no more mistakes when counting :)
-----------------------------------------------------------
"I have received the Starter Kit and I love it! I have just begun to make some of your jewelry. My first cuff was a disaster because my base wasn't as accurate as I had hoped. With the starter kit, the video and written directions, I was successful in making my first pair of earrings.
Thanks so much for developing the starter kit. It makes a great deal of difference in my final results."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"I just finished my first pair of sunflower earrings and am wearing them. I just love your designs. So different and classic!"
-----------------------------------------------------------
so if you are an ISK knitter and want to skip the base preparation part, and start straight on with knitting your item , dont think long....
and if you are not yet an ISK knitter there is no better time to start then now !!!
The ISK starters set is for sale on my etsy shop for only 24$ .

Online classes , wire crochet online courses
I have a big announcement to make today !
A big project i was holding as secret is on air as of yesterday, as you can understand from the headline I'm offering my first online classes , finally not only people form my area can learn my ISK (invisible spool knitting) technique, but EVERYONE !
My wire crochet ISK classes are hosted and organized by the talented Orna Willis, a needlepoint artist and a well experienced teacher. Orna promised to give me an interview, so stay tuned it will happen in a couple of days. if you dont have patient you can read about her and see her online classes here.
Orna has invited me together with a talented group of artist to to offer our online classes on her site, isn't that generous of her ?
In this first series of online classes of mine, yes... I couldn't open just one, you know me...
So, as I was saying, I will be offering 4 classes, 3 beginners online classes where no experience in ISK (invisible spool knitting) is required and one for advanced students.
The 3 beginners classes will focus each one on a different field, one on jewelry making, one on small sculptures and one on lampshades.
When ? Where? How ?
The Online Classes begin the weekend of April 21, 2012 and run for 8 weeks, ending the weekend of June 2nd.
About two weeks before the start of class, you will receive a kit containing everything you will need to participate in the class.
Just before the start of class I will contact you with sign in instructions for the online forum. You will sign in and see the classroom and get a feel for how the forum works.
Every two weeks, another lesson will be posted in your class forum. In addition to that, I will schedule 4 live chat sessions throughout the 8 week class period. You can ask questions and chat with other students. I will be there in person to answer your questions throughout the class!
In addition, there will be a blog/comment section for you to post general questions. I will be checking back periodically to answer any questions that crop up.
so what do you say ? isn't it exciting ?
feel free to contact me for questions !

My next wire crochet secret project
I'm working on a secret wonderful project ! I can't yet tell you more right now , but I can invite you to enjoy some of the preparations with me.
As part of this project I decided its time I learn how to properly put on makeup, when I was a teen I was an expert , but along the years I sort of lost touch.
I happen to have a dear friend which is a makeup expert (lucky me...), her name is Taly Peled , she has her own make-up studio in Jerusalem and her own makeup brand. (check her out here Tally Peled).
So where were we ?
It was a nice winter Friday morning, a day that is all fun and no work, I headed to Jerusalem with a friend to meet Taly in her studio.
Jerusalem for me is like going abroad, so we turned the GPS on, in hope that it will lead us safely and quickly, I'm not a big fan of GPS and this time proved me right.... it took us the longest way possible, we almost got lost..
but that's for another day and another story.
Taly helped me pick the right colors for me and explained in detail the various steps and how to use all these colors ..... it was such fun !
I memorized it all in hope I will manage to remember it when the day to use it comes.... cant tell you when.... its part of the secret.

YoolaHoops wire crochet video tutorial
Who doesnt like hoop earrings ? it can look casual and delicate when it is small and sexy and eye catching when it is made very large, but in any case it is always chic especially with the wire crochet element in my interpretation.
For those of you that want to creat yourself my wire crochet designs and prefer visual step by step video tutorials , I'm happy to announce that my YoolaHoops are now available also as an OnLINE VIDEO tutorial.
After your purchase has been completed you will reciev from me both the PDF file and alink directing you to a password secured folder when you can watch online your tutorial as many times as you like.
If you bought from me in the past this tutorial, I'm giving for FREE the updated version plus a discount on the video, so email me if you haven't yet received it .
Pls note it is an advanced level tutorial, not because its complexity but because its difficulty, so if you haven't tried any of my other designs I recommended starting with the YoolaCuff for example.

Infinity wire crochet gold necklace - as source of inspirtaion
Infinity is a shape that has fascinated me ever since I started designing, and It keep appearing in my designs when I don't expect it :) ages ago when I was still a young design student i created a hanger for a chair in the shape of infinity, this design won me the first place in a compettion held by an Italian company name Progetti. this project made me believe in myself as a designer.
The second time i can mark that this shape came to me when i first discovered the world of jewelry making and stamped infinity spirals on my first handmade silver ring, this was defiantly a life changing experience , since my love affair with jewelry started at that day.
And here it is again, this idea for a necklace has been sitting in my head for quite a while but I never got there to actually making it, until last week :)
I think my special bond with the infinity shape comes from it's reflection in me, I'm also in a constant move.....
The infinity wire crochet necklace is 43 cm (19inch) long and is made of quality gold filled wire, I plan to also make it in rose gold and in white silve
I already have a first order for this necklace ... huuuray !
